BUCKS COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA
AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE 2015 EDITION OF THE INTERNATIONAL FIRE CODE REGULATING AND GOVERNING THE SAFEGUARDING OF LIFE AND PROPERTY FROM FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARDS ARISING FROM THE STORAGE, HANDLING AND USE OF HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCES, MATERIALS AND DEVICES, AND FROM CONDITIONS HAZARDOUS TO LIFE OR PROPERTY IN THE OCCUPANCY OF BUILDINGS AND PREMISES IN NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP; PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS AND COLLECTION OF FEES; AND REPLEALING ORDINANCES THAT ARE
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED and ORDAINED by the Board of Supervisors of Northampton Township as follows:
SECTION 1. Northampton Township does hereby ordain as follows:
That a certain document, two (2) copies of which are on file in the office of Northampton Township being marked and designated as the International Fire Code, 2015 edition, including Appendix Chapters A, D, E, F, G, I, and J as published by the International Code Council, be and is hereby adopted as the Fire Code of the Township of Northampton, in the State of Pennsylvania regulating and governing the safeguarding of life and property from fire and explosion hazards arising from the storage, handling and use of hazardous substances, materials and devices, and from conditions hazardous to life or property in the occupancy of buildings and premises as herein provided; providing for the issuance of permits and collection of fees therefor; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of said Fire Code on file in the office of the Township of Northampton are hereby referred to, adopted, and made a part hereof, as if fully set out in this legislation, with the additions, insertions, deletions and changes, prescribed in Section 2 of this ordinance.
SECTION 2. That the following sections are hereby revised.
Section 101.1. Insert: Northampton Township
Section 109.4. Insert: Summary Offense, One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00), Thirty (30) Days
Section 111.4. Insert: Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00) or more than One Thousand Dollars ($1000.00)
Section 1103.5.3. Insert: Within two (2) years of the service of notice that a sprinkler system shall be required.
SECTION 3. That Ordinance No. 547 of Northampton Township is hereby repealed only to the extent that International Fire Code of 2009 is referenced and all other ordinances or parts of laws in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4. All preexisting building code requirements shall be maintained including Appendix A of the 1996 BOCA Fire Prevention Code.
SECTION 5. SEVERABILITY.
In the event that any section, sentence, clause, phrase or word of this ordinance shall be declared illegal, invalid or unconstitutional by any Court of competent jurisdiction, such declaration shall not prevent or otherwise foreclose enforcement of any of the remaining portions of this ordinance.
SECTION 6. REPEALER.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent herewith or in conflict with any of the specific terms enacted hereby, to the extent of said inconsistencies or conflicts, are hereby specifically repealed.
