The Bucks County Planning Commission will submit a request for funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to release federal Economic Development Initiative/Community Project funds for the Newtown Rail Trail Project.
The proposed Phase II project includes the construction of a 1.8-mile extension of the Newtown Rail Trail into Northampton Township, beginning at Bristol Road and terminating at the Bucks County-owned Churchville Nature Center.
As part of the Notice of Intent to Request Release of Funds and Finding of No Significant Impact, any individual, group, or agency may submit written comments from April 23, 2026, through May 26, 2026.
Written comments may be submitted:
- By email to Christian Regosch at cpregosch@buckscounty.org at any time during the comment period; or
- By mail or hand delivery to the Bucks County Planning Commission, 1260 Almshouse Road, Doylestown, PA 18901, weekdays between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM, before the close of the comment period.
All comments received by May 26, 2026, will be considered by the County of Bucks before authorizing submission of the request for release of funds. Please specify which notice your comments address.
