Household refuse collection days stay the same. Household refuse is collected twice a week. Each household is limited to six bags or cans of household refuse per collection day. We start trash collection at 6am, so it is better to get your trash to the curb the night before, but no earlier than 6pm. Use plastic or metal trash cans or plastic trash bags. All trash should be bagged. Please do not put out trash in paper bags, cardboard boxes, or containers smaller than 20 gallons. THESE CAUSE LITTER!

Latex paint: Let the paint dry in the can. Adding kitty litter or a commercial drying agent will speed up the drying process. When paint is dry, double bag the can before putting it in the trash. Leaking paint will damage our trucks and stain your street.
Oil based paint is hazardous waste. Call Bucks County Planning Commission (215) 345-3400 for drop off locations and dates.
We do not pick up concrete materials, such as roofing and other home remodeling debris. You will need to make special arrangements with us or another waste hauler to remove this debris.
Bulk pick up is always on the second trash day of the week. We will pick up ONE bulk item each week per household. These items can include furniture, carpets, appliances, and large auto parts. Certain restrictions apply.
Carpets/padding must be cut to 3-foot widths, rolled, tied or taped. We will only take 10 rolls of carpet/padding on bulk day.
Tree limbs or tree trunks larger than 3" in diameter are handled as bulk items. They cannot be longer than 36". Windows, mirrors, glass panels, etc. must be taped in a criss-cross pattern to prevent breakage.
Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners and humidifiers contain Freon, which is considered hazardous; you must call us so that we can schedule a pick up date, 1-800-432-1616. There is NO extra charge for this service.
SINGLE-STREAM RECYCLING IS HERE!!!!
Recycling days stays the same. Recycle bins are available for purchase from the Township's Public Works Department Garage for $10 between 7:00am and 3:00pm. The garage is located at 65 Township Road.
What is single-stream recycling? Single-stream recycling allows residents to place all recyclables: cans, bottles and plastics together with newspapaers, cardboard, etc. in one container. There is no need to seperate items since the "single-stream" recycling process used allows all recyclables to be mixed together.
Additional Recycling Containers If you wish to use an extra container for recycling collection, simply go to your Township Administration BUilding and get a recycling sticker. You can use any container up to 40 gallons as well as your existing recycling bin. Make sure that the recycling sticker is visible.
Can be placed loose in the recycle bin and includes materials such as newspaper, inserts, magazines, catalogs, junk mail, envelopes, file folders, office white, colored and computer paper (staples and paper clips OK), cereal, tissue, gift boxes, etc. (remove liners) paper bags, phone books, wrapping paper (remove metallic paper, bows, etc.). Corrugated cardboard boxes that fit in the bin. Cardboard boxes that are too big for your recycle bin must be flattened and tied, and placed next to your recycling container for pickup.
Aluminum cans (beer and soda) aluminum foil and foil plates, etc. metal lids, metal food cans (tin/steel).
Glass bottles and jars (food and drink only).
Bottles and containers labeled #1 through #7 (soda, water, milk, juice, liquor, shampoo, detergent, condiments, salad dressing, yogurt, margarine).
Single-stream recycling will be collected by a compaction truck. Only recyclables will be on this truck on your recycling day, it cannot collect non-recyclable items.
Ceramics, dishes, coffee cups, drinking glasses, glass ovenware, pyrex, visionware, window glass, mirrors, light bulbs, plastics without #1-#7 labeling, plastic bags, styrofoam packaging, bubble wrap, tissue or paper towels, milk or juice wax paper cartons, metallic or coated paper, waxed boxes, books or toys.

Unlimited yard waste will be collected and taken to a composting facility the day after your recycling day. If Saturday if your recycle day, we will collect your yard waste on Monday. You can use biodegradable, 30-gallon paper bags or trash containers that do not weigh more than 50 pounds when full. Yard waste in plastic bags will not be collected during this period.
Tree branches and shrubbery must be no more than 36 inches long and less than 3 inches in diameter. They must be bundled and tied, taped or put in biodegradable bags. Branches or shrubbery cannot extend over the top of the can or bag.
You may set out a maximum of five containers of yard waste with your regular household trash. This yard waste is not composted, so it does not have to be put into biodegradable bags.
NOTICE: If you desire to recycle yard waste post-season (December 16-March 31), you may take your yard waste to the Tullytown Resource Recovery Facility (800) 869-5566, weekdays 7:00am-4:00pm and Saturdays 7:00am-11:00am, located at 200 Bordentown Road, Tullytown, PA 19007. There is a fee to bring material to the compost facility.

Your efforts to recycle bottles, cans and plastic have been fantastic. Every ton of solid waste that gets recycled saves large dumping fees and helps provide raw materials to businesses who use them in manufacturing. Thank you for helping us do the right thing for the taxpayers, local manufacturers and the environment!
Car batteries, gasoline, motor oil, pesticides, oil-based paints and other toxic and hazardous materials do not belong in the trash! Call Bucks County's Household Waste Hotline at 1-800-345-3400 for information on disposing of these materials. Many auto stores accept used motor oil and car batteries.
