Be Careful!
We have a law that makes it illegal to:

  • Make structural alterations to your home without a building permit.
  • Use your property in any manner other than in accordance with provisions in the Zoning Code.
  • Install plumbing fixtures in your home without having obtained a plumbing permit.
  • Fail to erect a fence around any swimming pool over 12 inches in depth. The fence must be at least four feet in height, but no more than six feet. (A temporary fence is required during construction of pools).
  • Build in a flood plain district without having complied with the adopted regulations.
  • Plant any shrubbery of trees within the right-of-way. (Usually nine and one-half feet from curb or edge of roadway or in an easement).
  • Store abandoned or junk motor vehicles.
  • Solicit, peddle "hawk" upon a public street without a permit.
  • Open the surface of any highway, street or avenue, or work within the right-of-way without having first secured a highway permit.
  • Install a coal or wood-burning appliance without a mechanical permit.
  • Discharge the water from a swimming pool or any other source onto a Public Street, road or highway.
  • Dump or deposit litter, refuse, garbage, handbills or other waste materials anywhere in the Township.
  • Park your car on any Township street when snow falls to a depth of four (4) Inches or more unless there are no off-street parking facilities.
  • Allow or permit your dog to stray at large.
  • Install solar panels or units without first obtaining required permits.
  • Re-side or re-roof your dwelling without first obtaining required permits.
  • Burn residential trash, refuse, leaves, yard waste, etc.
  • Consume alcoholic beverages on public property.
  • Install electrical wiring or equipment without an electrical permit.
  • Not to shovel sidewalks within 24 hours of snowfall.
