NORTHAMPTON PROCLAMATION

IN RECOGNITION OF MARGE WEINER

WHEREAS, The Distinguised Citizen Award was established by the Board of Supervisors on January 2, 2001, to acknowledge an outstanding Northampton Township resident; and the Board of Supervisors has chosen MARGE WEINER to receive the award this April 2007; and WHEREAS, Marge and her husband Harry have been long-time residents of Northampton Township, residing in Richboro since 1978, where they have raised their family, and where for thirty-three years Marge has enjoyed working in the Real Estate industry, currently with Keller-Williams, and WHEREAS Marge is a concerned citizen and has devoted her time and energy to promote safety improvements to Worthington Mill Road; serves as the community representative for the Council Rock School District's state mandated Strategic Plan; is a major supporter and patron of the Northampton Township Senior Center, sponsoring the Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast and other activities, and most notably is active in the project, "Soldiers for Hope" an ongoing, all volunteer endeavor to collect, package and distribute needed or requested items to our service men and women in Iraq and also those injured soldiers at Walter Reed Army Hospital, including a recent shipment of 3,800 boxes of girl scout cookies! NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors and the citizens of Northampton Township hereby recognize and honor MARGE WEINER as "CITIZEN OF THE MONTH".
