Officer Bloom is receiving this letter of commendation, because of his life saving actions. On January 22, 2007, Officer David Bloom, Badge #61 responded to a medical call in the Holland section of Northampton Township. Officer Bloom received information that a young 17 year old female was in cardiac arrest. Officer Bloom arrived on scene within 2 minutes and immediatley began administering CPR. Within a very short time, the victim began breathing without assistance.

Officer Friel and Officer Devaney are being awarded a commendation of merit after reentering a building filled with smoke several times to assist in getting more residents out.

Steven Dotzman is receiving this letter of appreciation for his assistance in apprehending three individuals who were responsible for a residental burglary that occured in Northampton on April 2, 2007.

This presentation to Sergeant of Dectective's John Sentell, is in recognition and Appreciation for 24 years of dedicated service to the residents of the Township of Northampton.

NORTHAMPTON PROCLAMATION

IN RECOGNITION OF POLICE WEEK

MAY 11 – 17, 2008

WHEREAS, the Congress and President of the United States have designated May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day, and the week in which it falls as Police Week; and WHEREAS, the members of Northampton Township Police Department play an essential role in safeguarding the rights and freedoms of the citizens of Northampton Township; and WHEREAS, it is important that all citizens know and understand the problems, duties and responsibilities of their police department, and that members of our police department recognize their duty to serve the people by safeguarding life and property, by protecting them against violence or disorder, and by protecting the innocent against deception and the weak against oppression or intimidation; and WHEREAS, the Northampton Township Police Department has grown to be a modern and scientific law enforcement agency which unceasingly provides a vital public service; NOW THEREFORE, I, George F. Komelasky, Township Supervisor and 2008 Board Chairman, call upon the citizens of Northampton Township and upon all patriotic, civil and educational organizations to observe the week of May 11 through 17, 2008, as Police Week commemorating police officers, past and present, who by their faithful and loyal devotion to their responsibilities have rendered a dedicated service to their communities and, in doing so, have established for themselves an enviable and enduring reputation for preserving the rights and security of all citizens. I FURTHER, call upon the citizens of Northampton Township to observe Thursday, May 15, 2008 as PEACE OFFICERS MEMORIAL DAY in honor of those peace officers who, through their courageous deeds, have lost their lives or have become disabled in the performance of duty.

George Komelasky and Chief Pilla present the Police Citizens recognition Award to John Gredone, a township resident. John, a business owner with extensive vehicle knowledge, provided information to police which resulted in an arrest in connection with stolen car parts and solved a major theft case that occur in Northampton as well as in Philadelphia.

George Komelasky and Chief Pilla present the Accomodation Citation to Officer Michael Scollon on May 14, 2008. Officer Scollon initiated a fellony car stop on July 25, 2008 which resulted in the arrest of an individual who was involved in an armed robbery.
