Bridges

"Six covered bridges were erected in the township in the 19th century with the first in 1815 at Spring Garden Mill. While most were destroyed or replaced due to flood damage and old age, one covered bridge-the Schofield bridge-remained in Northampton in the Tyler State Park. It was 181 feet in length-the longest covered bridge in Bucks County. Sadly, the original was destroyed by a fire in the 1990's but in a few years was rebuilt with much enthusiasm by volunteers and by donations from local businesses and individuals."
