"Soldiers Honored at May 25th
Supervisors Meeting"

At the May 25th Northampton Township Board of Supervisors Meeting, Army Specialist Brad Raudenbush was present to publicly thank the Board and the community for their contributions to his "Brad's Sandalmania" project. The fundraiser, which took donations of sandals and money for needy children in Iraq, came to a close a week prior to the meeting and was very successful. Brad's mother, Susan Monaghan, was also present, and was very much involved with the "Sandalmania" project. The Board presented Brad with the Army flag that was placed in the Board's flag display case on his behalf when he first went Iraq. Brad was also given a check and letter of appreciation at the meeting from Martin Frappolli, the president of the Philadelphia chapter of CPCU. The money will be put toward the already flourishing sandal donation project.
Also present at the meeting were Ray and Janet Swenson, whose son Captian Eric Swenson recently left for his second tour of duty in Iraq. Mr. and Mrs. Swenson brought back the Army flag that the Board had returned to Captain Swenson after he returned from his first tour of duty. His parents wanted to once again put the flag back in the display case until his second tour is over.
