NORTHAMPTON
PROCLAMATION

    WHEREAS, The Distinguished Citizen Award was established by the Board of Supervisors on January 2, 2001, to acknowledge an outstanding Northampton Township resident; and     

WHEREAS, CONOR SIMPSON has been chosen by the Board of Supervisors to receive the award for September, 2005; and

WHEREAS, Conor is a resident of Churchville and a student at the Council Rock Maureen M. Welch Elementary School; whose parents were helped by the services of teh March of Dimes, an international organization devoted to preventing birth defects and infant mortality when Conor was born eight weeks prematurely, weighing only 4 pounds, 5 ounces, and

WHEREAS, this year Conor decided he wanted to return the help and assistance given to him and his parents at the time of his birth and worked to raise funds during the March of Dimes Walk America event, raising One Thousand and Fifty dollars, which was enough money to enable the March of Dimes to help five babies, and earn Conor the distinction of the top 2005 youth fund raiser in Bucks County, and

WHEREAS, Conor has already set an ambitious goal and made plans to become involved again at the next March of Dimes Walk America fund raiser, expressing his desire to help other people because "...that's what he likes to do."

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors and the citizens of Northampton Township hereby recognize and honor CONOR SIMPSON as a "DISTINGUISHED CITIZEN" of Northampton Township..

PRESENTED this 28th day of September, 2005.
