CITIZEN OF THE MONTH

NORTHAMPTON
PROCLAMATION

        WHEREAS, The Citizen of the Month Award was established by the Board of Supervisors on January 2, 2001, to acknowledge an outstanding Northampton Township resident; and

WHEREAS, NANCY SZAMBORSKI, along time resident of Richboro, has been chosen by the Board of Supervisors to receive the award for October in the year of 2004; and

WHEREAS, Nancy in her position as Director of Navy Family Housing at the Willow Grove Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base was keenly aware of the housing related problem placed on our military families when service personnel were transferred, reassigned or honorably discharged; and

WHEREAS, through her concern and effort, in conjunction with State Representative Scott Petri, Nancy was influential in the creation of the House Bill No. 2081, now Act No. 65 of 2004, making pennsylvania more "military friendly" and affording our military personnel the benefit of the early termination of housing rental agreements.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors and the citizens of Northampton Township hereby recognize and honor NANCY SZAMBORSKI as "CITIZEN OF THE MONTH".

PRESENTED this 27th day of October 2004.
