CITIZEN OF THE MONTH

NORTHAMPTON
PROCLAMATION

        WHEREAS, The Distinguised Citizen Award was established by the Board of Supervisors on January 2, 2001, to acknowledge an outstanding Northampton Township resident or group; and

WHEREAS, the Northampton Days Committee created a community tradition in 1997 by providing a yearly celebration with the help of volunteers, local patrons, advertisers, and corporate sponsorship; and

WHEREAS, the Northampton Days Committee brings Northampton Township residents together to celebrate its community spirit; and

WHEREAS, the annual Northampton Day festival offers activities for residents of all ages including athletic events, entertainment, educational and cultural presentations; and

WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors wishes to recognize, commend and thank the Northampton Days Committee for its efforts by selecting the committee to receive the Distinguished Citizens Award for October 2007; and

NOW, THEREFORE, The Board of Supervisors and the citizens of Northampton Township hereby honor the Northampton Days Committee as "Distinguished Citizens" of Northampton Township.
