Township Supervisors and police staff were on hand to congratulate and welcome him to the Township’s finest. Officer Long comes to Northampton from the City of Philadelphia where he served as a police officer with the Philadelphia Police Department for approximately 12 years. His last duty assignment was in the 2nd District located at Harbison & Levick St, where he served as a special assignment officer. Chief Pilla states that “Officer Long is an outstanding candidate and will certainly be an asset to our Department”. One of Long’s attributes is that he did not take a sick day while serving with the Philadelphia PD during the12 years he served there.
