NORTHAMPTON

PROCLAMATION

   
    
 WHEREAS, The Distinguished Citizen Award was established by the Board of Supervisors on January 2, 2001, to acknowledge an outstanding Northampton Township resident; and the Board of Supervisors has chosen CHARLES E. FEAN, JR. to receive the award this June, 2005; and

WHEREAS Chaly, a devoted husband, father and grandfather, has been a resident of Northampton Township for over thirty-five years, where he has made his home in Churchville with his wife Betty and where they have raised their three sons; and

WHEREAS Chaly, has been an integral member of the Council Rock Baseball Association since the early 1980's when he joined them as a manager in the minor leagues, while his three young sons played ball, and continued to volunteer his time with the Association long after his sons were grown; as Major League Manager, Commissioner, Player Agent, President, President Emeritus, and Liaison to the Township Parks and Recreation Board. An electrician by trade, Chaly has devoted countless hours performing work at the Civic Center fields, writing scoreboards, installing lighting, timers and monitors; and last year, single handedly refurbishing the interior of the Shack and reconstructing portions of the scorekeepers booths, and

WHEREAS Chaly is the Association's "Bible"; "The Guy Who Knows"; that one special individual that the Association looks to for advice or what's best for the kids, and in giving so generously of his time and energy to the Council Rock Baseball Association, Chaly has given to our entire community as well, touching the life of every child who has played in the Council Rock Baseball Association over the last two decades, learning the values of positive athletic activity that helps to build teamwork, self-esteem and lasting relationships.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors and the citizens of Northampton Township hereby recognize and honor CHARLES E. FEAN, JR. as a "DISTINGUISHED CITIZEN" of Northampton Township.
