DISTINGUISHED CITIZENS

NORTHAMPTON
PROCLAMATION

        WHEREAS, The Distinguished Citizen Award was established by the Board of Supervisors on January 2, 2001, to acknowledge an outstanding Northampton Township resident or group; and

WHEREAS, the students, their families and teachers have always shown kindness and generosity to those in need, and decided to hold a Read-a-thon project to raise money for the purchase of phone cards to be given to our troops overseas, and especially those in Iraq and Afghanistan. They are working with The USO of Pennsylvania and Southern New Jersey, a non-profit, private organization that has provided services to our military since 1941; and

WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors wishes to commend these students for their resourcefulness and initiative and wish them success on this worthwhile endeavor to help our soldiers stay in touch with family and friends.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors and the citizens of Northampton Township hereby recognize and honor the FIFTH GRADE STUDENTS OF CHURCHVILLE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL as "DISTINGUISHED CITIZENS" of Northampton Township.
