PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, Breezy Point Day Camp,
a family owned and
operated facility and one of the first day camps in Bucks County, was started on a 1.5 acre tract in Rockledge, Pennsylvania, in 1955 by Eleanor and Edwin John Lorenc (Aunt Eleanor and Uncle Pete, as they were fondly called), and in 1959 the Lorenc's moved their home and the camp to a 32 acre parcel on Bridgetown Pike in Langhorne, where they raised their thre daughters. renovated and expanded the camp, and

WHEREAS, in 1976 the Lorenc's oldest daughter Gale and her husband Doug and their daughters Jill and Polly added a nursery school and day care center, that is today a nationally accredited preschool and kindergarten program serving over 250 children a year, and most recently added a computer center and two new attractions, Breezy Town, a child-size village and Wiiki Wami, a Native American campsite, and

WHEREAS, in this year 2005, Breezy Point is celebrating its 50th Anniversary, recalling wonderful memories of family celebrations and their life's work at the camp, alumni reminiscing of happy childhood days, and staff and campers anticipating new and challenging programs for the enjoyment of all of its 600 campers.

NOW, THEREFORE, the Board of Supervisors of Northampton Township extends its congratulations and best wishes to the Lorenc and Wiik families and the staff of Breezy Point as they celebrate 50 dedicated and fun-filled years, and proclaim their wish for continued success and prosperity in the years to come.
